Timetable for Language Centre 2017-18 Evening Classes released

The new 2017-18 timetable for evening classes at the University’s Language Centre has been released. Courses including Arabic, Russian, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese are available for students, staff and the local community.

Courses offer guidance from the University’s international team of tutors in a relaxed setting. You can improve your spoken communication and develop your confidence, encouraging you to interact in the language both here and abroad.

They run from level one, for beginners, to level six, for proficient speakers.

The fees for each 20-week course stand at £125 for students, £155 for staff, campus partners and concessions, and £185 for the general public. There is a £30 discount available for returning delegates, as well as 2015-16 students who are returning from placements.

This year, the Language Centre is offering new intensive 11-week Fast Track German and Spanish courses, with optional assessment modelled on credit-bearing degree modules. Fees for these courses start at £95 for students.

The evening classes begin on 9 October and run until 14 December, before recommencing in Semester 2 from the 5 February. There are no classes during the University’s winter examination period, Easter vacation or on 7 May (Bank Holiday).

A 2016-17 student said: “My teacher was very enthusiastic, engaging, patient and always encouraged us to expand our abilities.”
