Loughborough lecturer appointed Prince Claus Chair of the ISS

Ali Bilgic, a lecturer in politics and international relations at Loughborough University has been named as the new Prince Claus Chair of the Institute of Social Studies (ISS).

The ISS is an institute for education and research in the field of development studies, with the Prince Claus Chair being a rotating chair which promotes the work of the ISS.

Professor Bilgic will specifically focus on ‘Migration and Human Security’; looking at the political, social and economic processes of migration in an effort to respond to policy challenges and dilemmas. Bilgic will work closely on this project with other academics from the ISS and the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Ali commenced his new role on the 1 September 2017 and will hold this position for a period of two years.
