Van Kuijk Quartet to perform at Martin Hall

International musicians Van Kuijk Quartet will be performing at Loughborough University’s Martin Hall on Saturday 21 October.

As current BBC New Generation Artists, Nicolas Van Kuijk, Sylvain Favre-Bulle (both violins), Emmanuel Francois (viola) and Francois Robin (cello) have become rising stars since forming as a group in 2012.

They have been awarded with Best Beethoven and Best Haydn Prizes at the Wigmore Hall International String Quartet competition in 2015, as well as becoming part of the ECHO Rising Stars for the 2017/2018 season.

They have performed across the world in some of the most renowned venues, including the auditorium du Louvre in Paris and Musikverein in Vienna, alongside a number of international festivals as well. This autumn will see them tour across North America with performances scheduled in New York and Washington DC.

The Van Kuijk Quartet current reside at Proquartet, Paris, where they study with members of the Alban Berg, Artemis and Hagen quartets. The musicians have also worked with the likes of Günter Pichler at the Escuela Superior de Mùsica Reina Sofia in Madrid.

The show at Martin Hall will begin at 7:30pm on Saturday 21 October and the programme will be as follows:

Debussy: String Quartet

Janacek: String Quartet No. 1

Ravel: String Quartet
