Harvest fruits on your lunchtime break

Throughout October, there will be a number of opportunities to go out and harvest apples from around the University campus as part of the Fruit Routes event.

The times and locations are as follows:

  • Wednesday 4 October, 1pm-2pm outside the Facilities Management Yard
  • Wednesday 11 October, 1pm-2pm opposite the STEMLab, West Park
  • Wednesday 18 October, 1pm-2pm at Ashby Road Orchard

Just turn up to one of the scheduled times with a bag to collect your fruit and take it home with you at the end!

Whether you decide to bake an apple crumble for the campus apple bake off; or eat them just as they are and share with the family, harvesting on your lunchtime can improve your wellbeing as well as get you out and about in the outdoors.

If you have any questions about the lunchtime sessions, please contact Jo Shields, Sustainability Manager at J.Shields@lboro.ac.uk.
