University Choir brings Christmas spirit to Loughborough

On Wednesday 6 December, the University Choir will be performing a special concert as the countdown to Christmas begins.

Held in the Cope Auditorium from 7:30pm, the performance is guaranteed to get audiences in the Christmas spirit as festive songs from around the world are sung, with refreshments available to everyone attending.

Eleanor Graff-Baker, conductor of the Choir said: “There will be a mixture of choir items, interspersed with some solo pieces. This year we will follow an international theme, with music from all around the world.

“From the Philippines to Dorset, from Korea to Mexico, there is barely a time zone we will not cross; it is probably best to think of it as a musical map of Santa's busiest night of the year.”

For those who want to do more than listen, the University Choir is open to all University staff and students and members of the public aged 16 and over.

New members are welcome to join for free at any time – no auditions or previous experience is required. The Choir meet every Monday during term time to rehearse. You can email luarts@lboro.ac.uk for more information about joining.

Tickets for the concert cost £7 and can be booked online or from the LU Arts Box Office at Loughborough Town Hall on 01509 231914.
