First Research Beacon to be launched

The first of the University’s research Beacons – the Transport Technologies Beacon – will be launched at a special event tomorrow (7th March).

The Beacons, which focus on the research areas where we are already highly regarded, are part of the CALIBRE (Collective Ambition at Loughborough for Building Research Excellence) Framework. CALIBRE is an inclusive, comprehensive and forward-looking articulation of the research component of the University’s Building Excellence strategy. It sits within the context of the University strategy and sets out the programmes through which we will reach our collective ambition to deliver impactful world-class research across all disciplines.

The Beacon launch event will provide an overview of Loughborough’s research strengths within the Transport Technologies area and information on the types of support the Beacon will offer. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the Transport Technologies Beacon and how it fits within Loughborough’s new CALIBRE Framework.

The launch will take place from 12.30pm to 2pm on Tuesday 7th March in the Jennings Council Chamber, Hazlerigg Building.
