Student opportunities available with LU Arts

LU Arts are currently looking for students to fulfil roles in two areas, starting in the next academic year.

Steering Group

If you are interested in helping shape and progress LU Arts, you may be a perfect member for the new Steering Group. This voluntary position will include taking part in creative activities, attending monthly meetings, and influencing the LU Arts programme.

The department hosts events with international artists, National Theatre Live screenings, Radar, Speech Bubble, and countless other student and staff opportunities. Within this role, you can help with improvements and create new ideas for LU Arts.

In return you will receive discounted or free event tickets, creative and learning opportunities, work experience and a CV boost, as well as hearing first about paid work opportunities for students. The first meeting will take place in October 2017 and students can join on a rolling basis.

Online Assistant

The second available role is of Online Assistant, which is paid £8.34 per hour. Working up to six hours a week during term time, the role can fit flexibly around your studies. This post is available as two placements and the first would start in September.

You will help LU Arts’ student outreach, maximise event attendance and raise the programme profile by creating online content, producing short videos and extending communications. Other activities will include writing posts for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as writing reviews or securing reviews from other students. You will be expected to take part in the steering group, and attend events.

This opportunity will provide you with new skills, work experience, a CV boost, a work reference and professional mentoring.

The deadline for applications is 5 July and you are expected to send a covering letter and CV.

Please contact Victoria Godfrey V.Godfrey@lboro.ac.uk should you have any queries about either of these opportunities, or if you wish to apply.
