Staff invited to Change Academy programme

Staff members across all Schools and Professional Services are encouraged to take part in this year’s Change Academy programme.

The conference-style event, which is running from 23 – 26 January, will help staff to look beyond their own personal remits and responsibilities and understand the wider context in which their activities sit.

Staff will be supported by the Change Team to follow and map existing processes during the week, as well as identifying areas of improvement.  At the end of the week’s events, colleagues involved in the process review will come together to reflect on their findings and discuss potential opportunities for change.

There will also be a series of keynote presentations on the University’s Strategy and Change from University Vice Chancellor Robert Allison and Chief Operating Officer Richard Taylor.

Professor John Arnold from the School of Business and Economics will explore what empowerment and trust means in the workplace. To conclude the talks, Professor Jacqui Glass will reflect on the recent results from the staff survey and discuss changes to be made moving forward.

Training sessions to assist staff in their personal and technical skills are also running across the four days.

The aim of the Change Academy programme is to evaluate and develop the current processes in place. Line managers are encouraged to discuss with colleagues the process reviews that might be most usefully looked at within their areas and to seek support from senior colleagues in other Schools and Professional Services to enable processes to be followed by their colleagues from end-to-end during Change Academy.

Members of the Change Team can advise on whether there may be work already happening in areas chosen and can support the thinking on how a topic might be taken forward.

Talks and training sessions are open to all but registration is required to ensure rooms are booked and trainers are available. Details of all sessions and booking forms can be found at: http://www.lboro.ac.uk/services/change-projects/change-academy/2017/
