Award winning British vocal group to perform at University next week

A musical and TV phenomenon is heading to Loughborough next week as multi-award winning group The Sons of Pitches take the stage at Martin Hall Theatre.

The group, who are performing on Wednesday 16 November, became the first winners of BBC2’s The Naked Choir last year and have since captivated audiences through their highly creative vocals and programme of inventive pop covers.

Recent highlights for the group include tours across the UK, USA and Asia with headline performances at the NEC Birmingham, The Hong Kong International Festival and a sell-out-debut at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

As well as performing, The Sons of Pitches are also involved in vocal workshops. They are currently collaborating with the Royal Opera House Learning and Participation Department in an initiative to inspire confidence in school pupils from primary to secondary level.

Sons of Pitches can be seen and heard on Wednesday 16 November at the Martin Hall Theatre at 7:30pm.  Tickets are £19.00 and £17.00 concessions. They can be bought online at arts.lboro.ac.uk or from the LU Arts Box Office at Loughborough Town Hall on 01509 231914.
