Loughborough to host the UK's FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Expo

The University is set to host the UK's pilot event for the  FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Expo as part of UK Robotics Week, 22 June.

The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Intelligent Automation, based at the University, is providing the opportunity for 6-9 year olds to take part in this exciting Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) programme.

The programme is designed to introduce young children to science and engineering concepts and teamwork, whilst engaging participants in valuable STEM experiences relevant to the world around them.

The Expo will involve teams of up to six children who will research and solve real-world issues, design and build a LEGO® model with moving parts and present their research on a poster.

If you have a young son or daughter who you think might be interested in taking part, please speak to their school.
