Loughborough celebrates LGBT+ community in Pride March

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender+ Pride March will be taking place on campus later today at 5pm.

Organised by Welfare and Diversity at the Students’ Union, this is the second Lougborough LGBT+ Pride March to take place.

The March aims to eliminate discrimination and raise awareness of the LGBT+ community at Loughborough to provide an all-inclusive campus for every student.

The parade will start after the HeadsUp event, 'Destresstival'. It will start at the Union, parading through the student village and back. Staff and students are all welcome to join in and celebrate with the Loughborough LGBT+ Association.

Face paints, rainbow flags and transgender flags will be available to help spread awareness of the gender identities which the Union plans to further incorporate next academic year.
