Important information – IT systems unavailable on Wednesday 29 June, 6-10.30am

This Wednesday, 29 June, many of the University’s key IT systems will be unavailable. This is to allow IT Services to carry out essential work to ensure that the University’s systems remain robust, stable and secure.

The systems will be down from 6am and work is expected to continue until approximately 10.30am.

During this time you will not be able to access:

−      The University’s website – a holding page will be in place for the duration of the downtime

−      Systems that you might use for University-related business, eg iTrent, LUSI, Agresso and Webmail

−      Individual and Group Workspaces

Outlook will not be functioning properly during this period and it is therefore advised that you avoid using it until the systems have been restored to normal.

The following will be available intermittently:

−      The telephone system

−      Networked printers – you will be able to print documents stored locally on your PC, but not those stored on the Workspaces

−      Access to web sites other than the University’s

You will be able to:

−      Log on to your PC

−      Access Research HPC services as normal

−      Access student PC labs as normal

More information on the work being carried out, including a set of FAQs, is available on the IT Services website.

IT Services will tweet via their @LboroITServices account as soon as the systems have been restored to normal. Their service desk (T: 222333) will also have a recorded message available when the systems are operational again.

We realise that this outage will be disruptive to varying degrees for staff and students and to those outside the University who wish to access our website during the affected period. However every effort has been taken to minimise the impact of this work, and all systems will be restored to full operation as soon as possible.
