Important notices from IT Services
The following notice contains important information from IT Services.
Individual workspace disruption deferred works
IT Services recently communicated details of the planned outage to individual workspaces* during the period of Thursday 14 July (6pm) – Friday 15 July (10.30am).
These works have now been deferred due to delays witnessed when completing data backups in preparation for the changeover of storage. A revised date for these works is being looked into and will be communicated in due course.
For further information and advice on these works or to find out if your individual workspace will be affected, please contact the IT Service Desk via IT.Services@lboro.ac.uk or on extension 222333.
*Referred to as Individual Workspace/U: drive, including all folders and files found under the “Network Location” on your computer
Phishing via Spam email warning
Please be advised that a number of bogus/phishing* emails have been delivered to University staff recently, resulting in some staff mailboxes being compromised/hacked.
Please be vigilant when dealing with emails containing links or attachments, especially those purporting to be from the University or the Helpdesk or saying to ‘click here’ to update your account, retain your access or similar.
If you have received a phishing email, clicked on the link and provided your University credentials (username and password), please contact the IT service desk (email@example.com or 01509 222333) so they can check your university mailbox and take recovery action.
If you are unsure if an email is real or not please don't hesitate to contact our Service Desk for advice.
