University holds Inaugural Donors and Scholars reception

On 25 February, the University held a reception to celebrate the support donors have provided for Scholarship students at Loughborough.

Scholarship donors were invited to the reception to meet with the students who have benefited from their gifts.

Vice Chancellor, Robert Allison, hosted the dinner with guests including the Schofield Society members, Ford, Bechtel and Caterpillar.

Scholarships are instrumental in enabling students to study at Loughborough and benefit from the outstanding teaching and facilities on campus.

 The Scholarships represented were:

  • Development Trust Scholarships
  • Sport Scholarships
  • Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) Scholarships
  • The John Pickford Scholarship
  • Ford Blue Oval Scholarships

Scholarships such as the Sport Scholarships support elite athletes from a range of sports including Athletics, Hockey and Football.

The John Pickford Scholarship was named after the founder of WEDC. This fund provides support for students from low- and middle-income countries to study with WEDC.
