New space offering placement advice to students

The Place is a new space for students to access information and advice on placements and other forms of professional level work experience.

Since opening at the beginning of the Autumn term, nearly 500 students have visited to access placement support services, including help with the recruitment process and understanding the benefits of work experience.

The Place, part of the Careers and Employability Centre, is located in the ground floor corner offices of the Stewart Mason building. Joining the Placements Governance Manager and Placement Assistant are placement officers from Arts, English, Drama and Publishing, the Design School and School of Sports, Exercise and Health Sciences.

Second year Sport and Leisure Management student, Leuan Llyr Evans, comments: “I’ve been to The Place several times and they have always been very helpful.  I am hoping to do a placement in football coaching which isn’t easy to find, but they have shown true commitment in helping me find the right placement and securing it.”
