Become a materials specialist at one of the UK’s top five Materials Departments
There is a growing demand for materials scientists and engineers. Find out how you can take advantage of this at the University’s Department of Materials Postgraduate Open Event on June 23.
If you are considering further study to improve your employment prospects or you’ve had a taste of Materials Science and Engineering and would like to study it in more depth, the Materials Department could be the perfect choice for you.
The Department is one of the UK’s best places to study materials and is ranked in the UK top five in all major newspaper league tables. Its industry focused programmes give students crucial experience and skills that mean they are highly sought after by many of the world’s leading companies.
The open event is taking place between 11am and 3.30pm in the Department.

The event will give you the chance to experience first-hand the department’s superb facilities and meet staff and students who will be able to answer your questions. The day will comprise presentations about each programme and tours of the department and facilities, as well as the campus and accommodation.
There will also be a special presentation of case studies from our Masters projects portfolio, many of which are done with major industry partners including Jaguar Land Rover and Rolls-Royce.
