Applications now open for teaching awards

Applications are now open for Loughborough’s annual awards which recognise, celebrate and fund excellence in teaching.

Two types of awards are being offered in 2015 – the Research-informed Teaching Awards and the Teaching Innovation Awards.

If you have an idea you want to explore that could improve our teaching and learning, apply for funding through the Teaching Innovation Awards. Students, as well as academics and learning support staff, are now able to apply for these awards to recognise the important part everyone plays in our teaching and learning.

Approximately £20,000 is available under the Teaching Innovation Awards scheme. Individual awards generally attract around £3,000 but up to £5,000 can be awarded if merited.

Applications are focused (rather than onerous) and the deadline is 6 March 2015. Full guidance, application details and the contact for support are available on the Centre for Academic Practice website.

The Research-informed Teaching Awards recognise excellence in this area, with funding awarded to support your or your nominated colleague’s continued practice. Information about the nomination/application process and the criteria are available online.
