Hello World: Where Design Meets Life

Alice Rawsthorn Alice Rawsthorn

Alice Rawsthorn, former director of The Design Museum in London, will be giving a free talk tomorrow (Wednesday 14 January) at the Design School. She will discuss the changing role of design in our lives, the challenges and opportunities facing designers in the future and other issues explored by her latest book “Hello World: Where Design Meets Life”.

Alice is a true storyteller and recalls memorable examples - some well-known, others less so – which will resonate with a broad range of listeners.

Alice Rawsthorn writes about design in the International New York Times, which syndicates her columns worldwide, and is a columnist for Frieze magazine. She’s also a trustee of the Whitechapel Gallery and the contemporary dance group, Michael Clark Company, as well as chair of trustees at the Chisenhale Gallery in London. She was awarded an OBE in 2014 for services to design and the arts.

The talk will take place at the Design School and starts at 6 pm. Register online to secure your place.
