Carol Prokopyszyn

Carol Prokopyszyn joined as Deputy Director of Finance on 30 November. She will support the Director of Finance to deliver the strategic leadership of the University’s finances and financial decision-making. Carol will take specific responsibility for procurement, tax, financial accounting, treasury and the finance shared service centre.
Previously, Carol was Deputy Director of Finance at the University of Leicester and has over 7 years’ experience in Higher Education. She is a chartered accountant and has 12 years’ commercial experience of retail and property finance.
Professor Wen Feng Lin, FRSC
Professor of Chemical Engineering

Professor Lin has particular expertise in physical chemistry, electrochemistry and electrochemical engineering. The primary themes of his research are related to energy, environment and water. He collaborates internationally and has led a significant number of externally funded projects, ranging from fundamental understanding electro-catalysis to applied R&D in energy materials, fuel cells and ozone generation for water treatment, with an output of over 160 publications, 6 patents and 2 spin-outs.
He was a Lecturer, then Associate Professor at Xiamen University/China, a Senior Visiting Scholar at Hong Kong University and Case Western Reserve University, a Research Fellow funded by prestigious Humboldt-Foundation and Max-Planck-Society. He has also worked with Nobel Laureate Prof. Ertl in the Fritz-Haber-Institute in Berlin. Professor Lin holds 4 Visiting Professorships at four leading universities in China as well as a Visiting Research Professor title from QUB.
