General Assembly: tomorrow, Tuesday 28 October

The meeting of the General Assembly will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 28 October, at 4.15pm in EHB, Room J104.

All staff are invited to attend to hear the Vice Chancellor review recent successes and look forward to the priorities for the coming academic year.

Under the provisions of Statute XV, the General Assembly may discuss and declare an opinion on any matter relating to the University, including any matter referred to it by the Council or the Senate, and may, if it so decides, submit resolutions to the Council or Senate.

Senate and Council recently approved changes to the composition of General Assembly to allow all staff to be members, not just academic and academic-related staff. The formal changes to the University Statutes are still subject to approval by the Privy Council but we have invited all staff to attend this meeting in anticipation of that approval.

Minutes of the previous meeting of the General Assembly and the agenda for the meeting tomorrow are available online.

Note: Should a formal vote be required, only academic and academic-related staff will be eligible to take part on this occasion
