Civil Engineering students through to final of national communications competition

Four Civil Engineering students have made it through to the national finals of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Communications Competition.

The students, Jonathan Gray, Rob Giles, Mike Godley and Matt Harrison had previously won the East Midlands round, and competed in Manchester in the semi-finals against industry and student teams from Northern Ireland, Yorkshire and Humber, the North East, and the West Midlands.

The students were competing as part of one of their university modules on sustainable development, led by Senior Lecturer Dr Chris Goodier.

The final will be held at the ICE Headquarters in London in September 2014.

Congratulations to the students and good luck in the final!
