Professor Myra Nimmo to leave Loughborough

Professor Myra Nimmo, Pro Vice Chancellor (PVC) for Research, has announced that she is to leave Loughborough to take up the post of Pro Vice Chancellor and Head of the College of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Birmingham.

Professor Nimmo joined Loughborough in 2007 as Dean of the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences, and became PVC Research in 2012. During her time here Myra has been involved in some major activities. She has been instrumental in both the development of the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine on campus and the ‘Exercise is Medicine’ Biomedical Research Unit, the first of its kind awarded to a university without a medical school.

More recently, Myra has overseen Loughborough’s submission for the Research Excellence Framework and led the establishment of the six Research Challenges, which provide a framework to enable us to enhance our interdisciplinary research.
