International athletics returns to Loughborough University

The annual Loughborough International Athletics (LIA) event will make a welcome return to Loughborough University on Sunday 18th May 2014.

Now in its 56th year, and the curtain raiser to the outdoor season, the athletes will be looking to make an impression on the track and in the field with the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games now less than 100 days away.

Last year’s event saw stand out performances from a number of London 2012 Olympians including Rhys Williams, Eilidh Child (pictured) and Perri Shakes-Drayton.

The LIA is being held at the Paula Radcliffe Athletics Stadium, and Loughborough Students will be taking on teams from England, Wales, Scotland, GB & NI Juniors, and British Universities in a points match.

Gates will open at 10.00am, with the first event starting at 11.30am.

Tickets for the event are £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and under 12’s free.
