Joining the University

I’ve accepted an offer of employment with the University. How can I discuss my working arrangements?

Working arrangements will, in the future, be discussed as part of the recruitment process.  Managers will facilitate discussions with individuals about their personal preferences relating to dynamic working as part of this project. If you have any further queries, please contact your new line manager.

Will the University provide me with equipment to work at home?

If your new role is suitable for Dynamic Working, we will supply you with a single workstation consisting of a laptop, screen, keyboard, mouse, headset and USB hub (if needed). It is expected that staff will use the same laptop, keyboard, mouse, headset and USB hub when working both in the office and at home and that the screen will remain at the main place of work which for the majority of staff will be on campus.

How will my induction work with my working arrangements?

Your line manager will discuss with you the arrangements for your induction before you start your role. It’s likely that initially you will work most of your time in the office, to learn the elements of your role and get to know your colleagues. As time progresses you can settle into your Dynamic Working arrangements.
