Update for students - 31 December 2020
Yesterday afternoon the UK Government made an announcement delaying the return of students on some courses to universities. We await confirmation of the courses affected over the next few days.
We now need to review our arrangements for the start of term on 11th January, especially in relation to any planned in-person delivery of taught programmes scheduled for the remainder of Semester One.
Semester One examinations and associated revision lectures are already scheduled to be online and will not be affected. You should continue to prepare as planned for any assessments and submit coursework by the existing deadlines.
If you have plans to travel to the University – for example because you have international travel arranged, because you do not have adequate space / facilities at home to study or undertake examinations, or are part of an elite sport performance pathway – our residential accommodation will be open and available. Study facilities, such as the library, will also be open.
The Vice-Chancellor will write to you early next week to provide more detail on short-term arrangements and we will provide a set of answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
Thank you for your ongoing cooperation which is very much appreciated.
