Update for students - 22 January 2021
I hope that any assessments you have had this week have gone well.
I thought it helpful to provide you with an interim update on the University’s timeline for returning to campus this term.
We are currently reviewing the situation, programme by programme, and year group by year group. We intend to make a detailed statement towards the middle of next week about when in person teaching will, or is likely to, resume for different groups. We are also very conscious of the travel challenges faced by students who are not currently residing in the UK and will ensure sufficient notice for your return.
I can confirm that if our advice for some students remains that they should not return until a given time, and those students do not return into University accommodation, we will continue to rebate residence fees. We will be performing welfare checks to ensure that any student claiming rebate is not resident on campus.
Currently, there are only a narrow range of reasons for students to return to campus, which I set out in my email of 5th January. Any student that has returned or will be returning MUST take a free and rapid Covid-19 test on campus and can book here. Please note the Government is likely to make regular testing a condition of campus operations.
Thank you for your continued patience.
