Update for staff - 27 October
Yesterday the Government confirmed that people living within Nottingham city and the boroughs of Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe will move into Tier 3 of Covid restrictions from just after midnight on Thursday (29th October).
We are aware that a significant number of staff live within these areas and will be impacted by this move. Details of the restrictions in Tier 3 are available on the Government website.
The rules in Tier 3 relating to work remain unchanged – if you need to be on campus to undertake your role, including the delivery of any in-person teaching, you should continue to attend as appropriate; if you can work from home, you should continue to do so. If you have any questions about how Tier 3 restrictions may impact you, please speak to your line manager in the first instance.
We also believe it likely that Charnwood will shortly move into Tier 2 and we anticipate an announcement from Government in the coming days. We will let you have further information as soon as we have it but the operational impact will be quite limited.
I appreciate that this may be an unsettling time for some. Please remember that there are helpful resources on the Staff Wellbeing website if you feel you would benefit from some support.
As we move into these new levels of restrictions, it remains vitally important that we all continue to do the following:
- Maintain social distance from others
- Wash hands thoroughly and frequently
- Wear a face covering where required

UPDATE: Please note that these restrictions now come into effect on Friday 30 October and extend to the whole of Nottinghamshire.
