UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD CITY NETWORK
GaWC is uniquely placed to integrate information and ideas about advanced service firms with studies of world cities. We are developing a portfolio of academic research projects that are providing us with an international reputation in higher education but these researches can also have a relevance for providers of the services. Under conditions of globalization, large service firms need to understand the world city network in which they operate.
Partnerships can be developed through ESRC mechanisms for British firms (CASE awards), but more generally we are seeking partnerships in particular areas:
PhD Studentships to support students studying for a higher degree
Post Doctoral Fellowships to support advanced research by young career researchers
GaWC Research Fellowships for practitioners seconded to pursue particular projects while on sabbatical
If you wish to suggest other forms of partnership you will find us very flexible in our approach to academic-practice linkages. To discuss alternatives contact Professor Peter Taylor firstname.lastname@example.org.
Remember we have a unique data base and information gathering facility plus the international expertise to provide a matchless intellectual context in which to study the relations between cities.
