Belonging and Inclusion Survey

As part of our ongoing commitment to addressing racial inequality and becoming an anti-racist organisation, we invite all our students and staff to participate in our Belonging and Inclusion Survey between Thursday 13 March and Thursday 3 April 2025.

On Thursday 13 March, all students and staff will receive an email inviting them to take part in the University’s Belonging and Inclusion Survey. The email invite will provide you with a link to the survey, which you can complete until Thursday 3 April. The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

All students and all staff, from any background, are eligible to take part in this survey. We strongly encourage everyone to take part.

Why we are running this survey

This survey is an important part of Loughborough University’s work for the Race Equality Charter (REC). It will help us to understand your experience with us, and improve the experience of all students and staff, especially those with protected characteristics of race, ethnicity and national origin.

Loughborough University is committed to addressing racial inequalities and creating an inclusive culture and environment where individuals are able to thrive, irrespective of their race or ethnicity. By finding out more about what we are doing well, and crucially, where we can do better, we aim to improve our policies, practices and culture.

We want to hear your views on studying and working at Loughborough University, and whether you think there is anything we can do to eradicate racial discrimination and advance race equality.

Why take part

This survey is part of a wider piece of work looking to understand the culture of the institution and advance race equality. By taking part you are adding to the knowledge of the university and helping us to identify areas for improvement, and ways to make those improvements.

The results of this survey will be included in our renewal application for our Race Equality Charter award and if successful, the application will then be published on our website. We hope you will see your views and ideas reflected within that application and will see that we are acting upon the survey results.

Race Equity at Loughborough

This survey is just one of the ways you can be involved and we will be communicating regularly to keep you up to date with the race equality work we are undertaking and seeking your views on future actions.
