Why choose Loughborough

By attending the Developing Veterans’ Resilience through Physical Activity programme at Loughborough, you will benefit from our state-of-the-art facilities and world-leading research, alongside the experience and knowledge of retired service personnel.

Developing your skills

  • At the end of the programme, you will have a better understanding of what resilience is, how it can affect you, and what you can do to develop your own resilience and overcome adversity.
  • You will also have a greater self-awareness of your own levels of resilience.
  • Throughout the programme, you will be provided with a toolkit of skills; physical, psychological and social, with which to build your individual resilience.
  • You will also have enhanced your social resilience by building both individual and group relationships among the other participants, which hopefully continue to develop beyond the programme in order to provide ongoing support.

The thoughtfulness comes through. The fact that you guys have really sat down and thought about in such a way that it has naturally carried on afterwards. I think that comes from the level of thought that has gone into it.”
