Profile

Nick studied Pharmacology at Manchester University, graduating in 1992. He then spent 20 years as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, first at Fisons and then at AstraZeneca.   His areas of research were primarily investigating novel therapies for inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and COPD.  Nick joined SSEHS as a Technical Tutor in Genetics and Biochemistry in 2012, taking on the role of Biosciences Practical Lead in 2022.

Away from the lab Nick coaches at a local boy’s football team and is a season ticket holder at Walsall FC.
