The weekend course offers students the option of studying the same course content but over three weekends in the East Midlands rather than attending once a week in London.

The weekend course includes an evening meal on two of the Saturdays (see Additional information below) providing delegates with more opportunities to network with other attendees and the course practitioners.

Programme details

Regulatory frameworks

You will study the legal frameworks governing agents in different sports and how to comply with them.

Contemporary legal issues

You will explore issues including player representation, dealing with minors, financial crime and corruption, betting and match-fixing – and how to deal with them.

Business practices

You will investigate the practicalities of being an agent including transfer negotiations, approaching clubs, and expanding your network.

The programme is taught over three weekends, covering the following topics:

Why study this course?

It's ideal for existing registered and prospective sports agents, the programme will help you to:

  • transition into the agency market
  • gain a holistic understanding of being an agent
  • develop and improve your understanding of the regulations applicable to you
  • advance your professional skills

There are no formal academic prerequisites for the programme, however some business experience and numerical proficiency are recommended.

This course is accredited by CPD UK and is worth 25 CPD points.

There is accommodation available to book on campus and in Loughborough city centre, some suggested places to look at are:

Burleigh Court Hotel

The Burleigh Court Hotel is situated within the university grounds. Walking time from the hotel to the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) is approximately 20 minutes.

Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel

The Elite Athlete Centre and Hotel is situated within the university grounds. Walking time from the hotel to the NCSEM is approximately 10 minutes

Link Hotel Loughborough

The Link Hotel is opposite the Loughborough University campus. 

Walking time to the NCSEM is approximately 30 minutes.

Premier Inn Loughborough

The Premier Inn is 1 mile from the Loughborough University Campus. Walking time to the NCSEM is approximately 20 minutes.

Evening meals

There will be two evening meals included in the weekend package on Saturday evenings. The meal will be held at a venue on the Loughborough University Campus and will provide a great opportunity for delegates to network with each other and the course practitioners.
