Directed by Professor Caroline Meyer, Loughborough University Centre for Research into Eating Disorders is committed to conducting internationally renowned research into clinical and sub-clinical eating disorders. In addition, the group is dedicated to increasing our understanding of the cognitive and emotional processes that affect eating behaviours within the broader context (both clinical and non-clinical).
- Cognition and eating psychopathology; including experimental and non-experimental research into individual differences such as narcissism, perfectionism, emotional processing and core beliefs.
- Exercise and eating disorders; including development of new evidence based measurement and management approaches.
- Parental cognition and mental health in relation to obesity, eating and feeding disorders among children.
- Mealtime factors and mealtime interaction within the eating disorders; including experimental assessment of environmental factors.
- The impact of cognitive factors on eating behaviour and consumption; including stress, craving & cognitive load.
