Alumnus releases second children’s football book

Seth Burkett has recently published his latest book, No Final Whistle.

In this, he tells the story of Alfie Bennett, who makes it in to a famous football academy. The character finds that life as a budding footballer isn’t as glamorous as it seems.

The alumnus is an ex-professional footballer, author and ghostwriter. His first book “The Boy in Brazil” helped Seth to share his story of playing professional football in Brazil.

Chelsea and Brazil playmaker, Willian, has said that the book is “a great story for all football fans”. No Final Whistle also includes an introduction by Seth's former teammate and Stoke City midfielder, Sam Clucas.

Upon the release of his new book, Seth said:

“I wanted to write something that would inspire young readers and teach the power of resilience. I am excited to have this book released and hope that it is the start of something bigger.

Thank you to Loughborough and my lecturers for their continued support.”

Seth graduated in 2013 with a BA degree in English and Sports Science and with an MA in English in 2014.
