Participants needed for a study to look at the effect of body composition on muscle responses to exercise

Loughborough University is recruiting participants for a research study to investigate whether being overweight or obese weakens muscle growth responses to exercise, a factor that may increase the likelihood of developing metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes.

We are looking for healthy, non-smoking men (aged between 18-40 years), with a body mass index (BMI) >30kg/m2 and who are free from a history of heart disease and metabolic diseases.

If you decide to take part, you will be asked to attend two laboratory testing sessions (first lasting 3 hours and second lasting 7 hours).

If you are interested in receiving more information about the study, please contact Dr Carl Hulston on: 01509 225449 or by email: c.j.hulston@lboro.ac.uk or Dr Rachel Woods on: 01509 226347 or by email: r.m.woods@lboro.ac.uk
