Launching... SSEHS Active

The BHF National Centre for Physical Activity and Health has been within our School for the last 17 years. We’re delighted that from today the Centre is further integrated within the School and will become known as SSEHS Active.

SSEHS Active will still be offering the same high quality resources, training, evaluation and information service as before. You’ll be able to visit their website at www.ssehsactive.org.uk and follow on Twitter at @SSEHSactive.

New name - same high quality research
As part of the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences at Loughborough University SSEHS Active has an important role in contributing to and expanding the high quality research already taking place. Staff will be working closely with academics and experts in physical activity and health to continue to provide you with high quality evidence-based resources.

New name - same high quality training
The same high quality, evidence-based training courses will still be available. The focus will be on health behaviour change and early movers to help you get little ones on the move.

Stronger partnerships
Existing collaborations will be strengthened and new partnerships developed within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and further afield. SSEHS Active will also be working closely with the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM). The NCSEM is a collaboration between universities, healthcare trusts, local authorities and private and voluntary sector organisations, bringing together research, education and clinical services.

New name - same evaluation service
SSEHS Active will still be conducting intervention and programme evaluation for commissioned projects. The team evaluate physical activity programmes to further understanding of healthy lifestyles and the translation of evidence into practical advice on what works to get people active.
