The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and it felt like somewhere I would feel secure and succeed. Being able to choose modules from all the different disciplines in the school. The extra-curricular opportunities that are available through Loughborough Students Union are really important because there is always something to do.

What do you enjoy about your course?

The variety of optional modules that there are to choose from are brilliant, with the ability to take modules from psychology, criminology and media. The lecturers are extremely passionate and knowledgeable about their research, and this comes across.

What do you think of the teaching quality and facilities?

Most of the lecture rooms are good, and most lectures are recorded which is really useful for revision. The virtual learning environment – LEARN – has all the module information including all the powerpoint presentations which is extremely useful.

Have you had any support from the University?

The lecturers are always there to talk to if you need support or have any questions. They always reply to emails when they can answering any questions, and will always arrange a meeting with you if you need it. The university support services are exceptional, with the Careers Network being on hand to check your CV and prepare you for interviews.

What do you hope to do when you graduate, and how will your Loughborough degree support this?

I hope to join the police force or the security services following graduation, and I believe my degree has prepared me well for this. For example, modules in policing, the criminal justice system and criminological theory have given me the knowledge I needed to confirm what I want to do when I graduate.
