The Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019, released on Sunday 23rd September 2018, has delivered good news for the Communication and Media and Social and Policy Studies subject areas.
Communication and Media proudly retain the top spot of being 1st in the UK in their subject. Head of Communication and Media, Professor James Stanyer, commented: “I am delighted that Communication and Media Studies at Loughborough continues to top The Times & Sunday Times league table. It’s further evidence of our teaching and research excellence and the outstanding education and experience our students receive.”
Sociology at Loughborough has successfully climbed four places, achieving a league table ranking of 6th place in the UK. Sociology is also ranked 2nd in the country for both ‘Teaching Quality’ and ‘Student Experience’. Social Policy has leapt ten places, securing a spot in the Top 10 in the UK for that subject.
Sociology Reader, Dr Paula Saukko, reacted to the news: “We are very proud that students have rated our Sociology degree amongst the very top in the country in terms of the learning experience we provide and the structure and organisation of our course. We are also very pleased that our unit, incorporating Sociology, Criminology and Social Policy, is firmly in the top ten in the country and has been steadily consolidating its position in recent years.”
Professor Stephen Case, Head of Social and Policy Studies, added: “As a new unit within a thriving school, we are delighted with these results. They are testament to the high quality of learning, teaching and academic experience that we strive for in close partnership with our students.”
