Jade Brooks BA (Hons), MSc International Business
Lecturer in Innovation and International Management
Jade is a Lecturer in innovation and international management and a member of International Business, Strategy, and Innovation group.
Her research uses mainly qualitative interpretive methods, to better understand power (status), knowledge, and identity tensions at work. Her doctoral thesis examined the management of tensions in multinational corporations and applied theoretical perspectives such as paradox, brokering, and framing.
Jade has experience teaching across International Business Environments, Global Offshoring and Outsourcing, and Entrepreneurship modules including, Business Planning, Funding, and Failure.
Previously, Jade gained MSc (Distinction) in International Management and gained BA (honours) degree from Loughborough University and University of Cadiz, Spain. Jade also has industry experience having worked as a Market Research and Insight Analyst, for CGA Strategy, a global on-trade consultancy firm.
Jade’s research uses mainly qualitative interpretive methods to better understand power (status), knowledge, and identity tensions at work. Her doctoral thesis examined the management of tensions in multinational corporations and applied theoretical perspectives such as paradox, brokering, and framing. From this research Jade has written research papers on:
- How globally distributed teams negotiate knowledge, power and identity tensions in collaborative work.
- How intermediaries broker information visibility in complex globally distributed networks.
- How protective (controlling) actions of onshore teams influence migrated tasks performed by provider teams.
Jade published papers as conference proceedings and has a pipeline of papers targeting internationally competitive journals including Information Systems Journal, Journal of Information Technology and Journal of International Business Studies.
Jade regularly attends and presents at international conferences including the International Conference of Information Systems and The Global Sourcing Workshop and has served as a reviewer for European Conference of Information Systems, International Conference of Information Systems, and the Academy of Management.
