Doctoral Researcher in Economics

Shandelle joined Loughborough University in 2018 as a doctoral researcher, after being awarded a research studentship. She has a background and an interest in energy and environmental economics.

She holds a BSc in Economics and Environmental Economics from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine. Following this, she completed a Master of Science in Energy Economics and Policy from the University of Surrey, where her dissertation was entitled ‘The Emissions, Energy Consumption and Growth Nexus in Trinidad and Tobago: A Causality Analysis at Aggregated and Disaggregated Levels’.

Her current PhD research focuses on prosumer behaviour in entering energy markets and the effects of this on market competition and social welfare.
