Business and Economics Students make top ten in TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards

The TARGETjobs Undergraduate of the Year Awards is a competition open to students across the UK where they can win prizes such as placements, internships and trips abroad with internationally recognised organisations.

This year there were 13 different awards that cover a range of academic subjects and skillsets. This is now the 11th year of the awards and over 4,500 students applied.

To make it to the final students had to first complete an application, including essay style questions and online tests. Once passing that stage students were either invited to a telephone interview or take part in an assessment centre.

Two students from the School of Business and Economics performed exceptionally well during these assessments.

  • Oluwatobiloba Omiyale, a Management Sciences student was placed in the top ten Management Undergraduates of the Year, sponsored by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
  • Thomas Baldock, an Economics student and current Loughborough Student President for Economics was placed in top ten Male Undergraduates of the Year, sponsored by L’Oréal.

Congratulations to both students, the experience they have gained throughout this rigorous process will be incredibly beneficial in their future applications.
