Dr Choudhary and Dr Travers receive Loughborough University Vice Chancellor awards

Alok Choudhary

Dr Choudhary and Dr Travers have both received a Vice-Chancellor’s Award from Loughborough University for their contribution to Enterprise and Learning and Teaching respectively.

The awards are decided by the Staff Awards Committee which includes the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellors and Chief Operating Officer and the awards will be officially given to the recipients on the 14th August.

In 2016, Alok formed a unique partnership through collaborating with the Carbon Trust and Co-founded the UK Forum for Supply Chain Sustainability, a unique network of 20 participating enterprises including BT, M&S, GSK, WRAP, Pepsi, Llamasoft, Verisk Maplecroft, and QUORN, etc., driving industry-academia collaboration. Alok lead this network to enhance the impact of research on policies and knowledge exchange in the area of Supply Chain Sustainability.

Dr Choudhary expressed his delight at receiving this award saying:

"I am thrilled to receive this award, which acknowledges exceptional enterprising contribution to research, teaching and knowledge exchange. A big thanks to Impact@SBE team, Enterprise office and collaborative partners from Industries from the UK and India for their support. It is certainly a great achievement for the SBE and demonstrates to the University that Enterprising activities are at the heart of our research and teaching."

Cheryl's research into Reflective Goal Setting has been taught at undergraduate level at Loughborough University and also has applications for working professionals.

Dr Travers added:

"I am thrilled to receive this award from our VC! I have always been extremely passionate about student learning; especially the transfer of that learning beyond the classroom and into the work context. I am exceptionally proud that my research and teaching combined activities are enabling SBE students to take away the essential knowledge for leadership. I'd like to thank all those learners over the years who have trusted me and my vision for them as more successful, resilient and happy individuals, and who have set themselves challenging personal development goals using my Reflective Goal Setting model to great effect."
