Alumnus delivers guest lecture at School of Business and Economics

Steve Kelly recently returned to campus to speak to 40 students on the MBA and Executive MBA course in the School of Business and Economics.

The alumnus, who graduated with his MBA in 2002, travelled from New York, where he works as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for IBM Global Business Services. As part of his role, he is responsible for 135,000 IBM employees across 30 countries.

Steve has also held leadership roles in HR at the BBC and BT during his career which has spanned the globe.

During his guest lecture, Steve delivered various pieces of advice to students on building a successful career. He spoke about the importance of personal skills in the workplace, transparency, and new trends in business.

The alumnus also talked about the challenges he’s had to face during his career, as well as his greatest accomplishments – including seeing team members flourish and excel in their role, going on to become senior members.
