Loughborough places 8th in The Complete University Guide 2020

Loughborough has been ranked eighth nationally (out of 131 UK institutions) in The Complete University Guide 2020, making it the top-ranking university in the Midlands.

The league table, published today (Wednesday, 1 May 2019), is based on ten measures: Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Research Intensity, Graduate Prospects, Student-Staff Ratio, Spending on Academic Services, Spending on Student Facilities, Good Honours Degrees and Completion.

Speaking about the CUG 2020, Vice-Chancellor Professor Robert Allison said:

“Loughborough’s continued presence in the top ten of The Complete University Guide, the only university in the Midlands to feature, underlines our position as one of the very best universities in the country.

“This does not happen by chance. Staff across the University and the Students’ Union work tirelessly to ensure our students get the very best out of their university years. Our top ten ranking is testament to this.”

The School of Business and Economics also placed well, with Business and Management Studies rising one place to 4th in the UK. The main SBE rankings in the CUG 2020 are as follows:

  • 1st in UK for Librarianship and Information Management
  • 4th in UK for Business and Management Studies
  • 7th in UK for Accounting and Finance

The SBE also ranked extremely well in the CUG 2020 'Graduate Prospects' list:

  • 1st in UK for Accounting and Finance
  • 1st in UK for Librarianship and Information Management
  • 2nd in UK for Business and Management Studies

The top ten universities in The UK Complete University Guide 2020 are:

  4. London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
  5. Imperial College London
