Dr Sun Hye Lee inspired to write more case studies after winning the Case Centre Award
The School of Business and Economics' Dr Sun Hye Lee was presented with her 2019 Case Awards trophy recently after winning an award for her case study on Apple for MBA students.
Sun won the Strategy and General Management category for her Ivey Publishing case, "Apple and Its Suppliers: Corporate Social Responsibility", along with co-authors Kamel Mellahi (Warwick Business School) and Michael J Mol (Copenhagen Business School).
"Winning this award is a great honour and the biggest possible encouragement to undertake more of this work. It was the first-ever teaching case any of us had written, and it is an interesting form of creating new knowledge alongside research articles and other means.”
Sun’s winning case focuses on labour rights violations occurring with Apple’s Chinese suppliers, and how the tech giant should deal with the issue.
Sun was presented with the Strategy trophy by The Case Centre Deputy Director, Vicky Lester. They were joined by the School Dean, Professor Stewart Robinson, and International Business, Strategy and Innovation head Professor Ian Hodgkinson.
