Stuart Miller

The Three Conundrums of Being an Entrepreneur

Stuart graduated with a Management Sciences BSc degree from Loughborough in 1990. He was awarded with a Lougborough University Distinguished Alumni award in 2012 for his outstanding achievement in enterprising business.

He started his first company at the age of 26, Octopus Information, a call centre-based concierge service. It lurched from one financial disaster to another until he sold it for a pittance six years later. This enabled Stuart to Launch his second venture ByBox in Silicon Valley during January 2000. ByBox is the UK’s leading business-to-business overnight parts delivery service. The business owns and operates a network of unmanned, technology-enabled lockers.

20 years later Stuart Sold ByBox for $300m and is now the Non-executive Chairman of the Company which allows him to spend most of his time larking around on historic canal boats and playing Irish music.

This is a great opportunity to hear Stuart talk about the exciting challenges he has encountered as an entrepreneur and a chance to ask questions on how to run a successful business.
