Dr Alex Wilson promoted to Senior Lecturer

Alex Wilson

Dr Alex Wilson has been recently promoted to Senior Lecturer.

He joined the School of Business and Economics in September 2012 as a member of the International Business, Strategy and Innovation discipline group and is part of the Centre for Service Management and Centre for Information Management. He has also held external positions as Chartered Association of Business Schools Research Fellow (2017 and 2018) and he has been a visiting academic at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University where he has also held four research fellowships (2013-2017).

His research addresses the strategic use of information technology. In particular, he is examining open and participative approaches to strategic management using digital and social media. He is also conducting research examining the role and purpose of business schools and the evolution and development of management education globally. He has recently completed two volumes analysing management education in Africa and a further study of Latin America. He is published in leading international journals including Long Range Planning, British Journal of Management, and Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal.

He works as part of the student recruitment team serving as the Open Day and Visit Day Coordinator for the School of Business and Economics.
