Kevin served a five-year indentured apprenticeship after leaving school with a local toolroom engineering company, and after serving his apprenticeship worked as a toolroom engineer for many years, specializing in tool and cutter design/sharpening. Holding both City &Guilds and CNC advanced machining qualifications.
Kevin moved into the education sector some 20 years ago and has held Various Specialist Technical roles supporting students in both state schooling and private schooling in Workshops as well as laboratories.
Kevin has gained extensive experience in setting up/repairing equipment used in physics practical’s as well as setting up practical examinations for “A” level students while working at a local private school.
Kevin joined the physics department to provide mechanical engineering support for final year student practical projects as well as supporting research projects.
Kevin enjoys supporting students/staff in their endeavours and particularly enjoys the variety of work involved.
