School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering

Robin Hildyard graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University in 2017, and has now moved on to study in the field of nanotribology under Mahdi Mohammadpour, focusing on reducing friction between sliding metal contacts by utilising carbon-composite thin solid films.

Friction in Minutiae: I intend to investigate the friction and wear performance of graphene-based thin solid film composites, with the aim of building on existing research to work towards industrially-realised frictional improvements in real systems.
