Background

Peter gained a BEng(Hons) in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of the west of England in 1992 after 10 years in the chemical and engineering industries. Post degree he worked in a fabrication company in the UK as a project engineer where he gained Chartered status with the IET. He spent two years working as a process engineer in a lock manufacturing company in Australia. Upon returning to the UK in 1998 Peter began his employment with Rolls-Royce as technologist in Friction Welding. In 2005 he was given the opportunity to study for in MBA in Technology Management (Open University). From 2006 peter has been working on linear friction welding and was a process specialist. He has been given the opportunity to take up a part time PhD and joined the centre in 2016. Peter is now working as a PDRA at Lancaster University & the TWI in their J4IC (Joining 4 Innovation Centre) collaboration.
